January 24, 2008 — InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion Survey Florida Presidential Primary(Note: Updated poll conducted overnight).
Q: If you have already voted or are likely to vote before or on this coming Tuesday’s Republican presidential primary which one candidate is your preference in the primary?
McCain: 23% Romney: 22% Giuliani: 18% Huckabee: 16% Paul: 4% Other: 7% Undecided: 10%
The survey was conducted January 23 and was weighted for age, race, gender, and geographic distribution. Margin of error +/- 4%. Matt Towery, CEO of InsiderAdvantage, writes a nationally syndicated column (Creators Syndicate) based out of Jacksonville’s Florida Times-Union. Towery’s column, which will be released in advance on this site Friday, will give an update in the race as well as analysis of issues on which voters are focusing.
His comments on this poll:
“As is noted from our previous numbers, the undecided is beginning to come down in this race. At present the battle seems to be a two person fight between John McCain and Mitt Romney. McCain being back up on television is likely accounting for his ability to nudge back into a precarious lead. However, the state of Florida is known for taking their debates seriously and with the weekend’s television ads remaining this is a very tight race. Giuliani needs something significant to take place in order to move his numbers. Given that this poll takes into account early voters he has already received whatever benefit he expected from having spent so many weeks in the Sunshine state. We will continue to poll each day up to and including a Tuesday morning final survey.” |
